The ADHD-box is a world unique innovation and digital experience that makes it possible to experience approx. five minutes of everyday life from the perspective of someone living with ADHD. It has been developed by Underbara ADHD in association with Samsung and the innovation house Epicenter Stockholm.
The experience consists of two parts illustrating the difficulties and challenges of everyday situations for people with ADHD. The first situation takes place in public transport while the other takes place in school during a test.
Through visuals and sound on 13 Samsung tablets the visitor gets to experience what it’s like to try to read a text and answer a few questions while being bombarded with impressions.
The idea and purpose of the box is in part to highlight the humanitarian and socioeconomic gains and the importance of early actions. But also to remind our elected politicians that correct support and environment – individually adapted to each persons pre-requisites and needs – is crucial to give all people the possibility to reach their full potential.
Interesting facts
The ADHD-box launched in Sweden in the summer of 2017 and has since then attracted over 7.500 visitors (about 14 people/day) – among others H.R.H Queen Silvia of Sweden, Sweden’s minister of education Gustaf Fridolin and Christopher Gillberg, professor of child and youth psychiatry.
